Fitness In Mind
Do you rush around not giving a moments thought to yourself, trying to juggle all that life throws at you? Maybe you keep getting a cold or persistant headaches or maybe your energy levels are zapped!! Could your mental attitude really be effecting your physical wellbeing??
Recent research has shown just how intergrated the mind-body connection is. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that transmit impulses along your nerves. They are the means in which your brain communicates with the rest of your body. Each thought you think reaches out to the furthest, miniscule cell in your body via neurotransmitters. Further research has discovered that the same neurotransmitters that are found in your brain can also be produced by your internal organs. So the idea that messages are initiated and transmitted in straight lines along neurons is no longer true; these messages can be intiated and transmitted by your organs too.
This means at the level of neurotransmitters there is no seperation between the mind and the body. Look after your body and you can feel the psychologoical benefits of less percieved stress, more energy and better concentration and efficiency.
Alot of my clients say to me that their stress levels accumulate when their never seems to be enough time to do everthing. Prioritise some time at the beginning of the week for planning and organisation.
'Every minute you spend on planning saves you 10 minutes of time in the week, that gives you a 1000% return on energy'
Think positive, be optimistic and have the belief that anything is possible and it just might happen. Take action now and re-establish that positive balance in your life.
